2013-03-12ARM: spear: move all files to mach-spearArnd Bergmann
There are no conflicting files between the three mach-spear* directories and plat-spear any more, so we can now move all file to a common mach-spear directory. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Acked-by: Viresh Kumar <viresh.kumar@linaro.org>
2013-03-12ARM: spear: move spear.h and misc_regs.h into plat-spearArnd Bergmann
The spear13xx version of spear.h is completely different from the newly combined spear3xx/spear6xx version, but we can never build ARMv5 and ARMv7 platforms together, so there is no harm in putting all the contents into a single file and adding appropriate ifdefs. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Acked-by: Viresh Kumar <viresh.kumar@linaro.org>
2013-03-12ARM: spear: merge Kconfig filesArnd Bergmann
As a preparation to merging the spear platforms into one directory, this merges the four Kconfig files into one. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Acked-by: Viresh Kumar <viresh.kumar@linaro.org>
2013-03-12ARM: spear: make spear3xx/6xx mach/spear.h files identicalArnd Bergmann
The two files are almost identical already basically just differ in the identifier names. By changing the identifiers to be the same, we are able to merge the two as a preparation to building a combined kernel. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Acked-by: Viresh Kumar <viresh.kumar@linaro.org>
2013-03-12ARM: spear: move identical headers to plat-spear/include/machArnd Bergmann
As an intermediate step towards unification of the three spear platforms, this gets rid of the mach/* header files that are obviously not platform specific. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Acked-by: Viresh Kumar <viresh.kumar@linaro.org>
2013-03-12ARM: spear: unify mach/generic.h and mach/irqs.hArnd Bergmann
These are indeed easy to combine, as there are no conflicting definitions in generic.h, and irqs.h will be obsolete once we enable SPARSE_IRQ. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Acked-by: Viresh Kumar <viresh.kumar@linaro.org>

2012-12-24ARM: delete struct sys_timerStephen Warren
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. 2012-11-26ARM: SPEAr3xx: shirq: simplify and move the shared irq multiplexor to DTShiraz Hashim
SPEAr3xx architecture includes shared/multiplexed irqs for certain set of devices. The multiplexor provides a single interrupt to parent interrupt controller (VIC) on behalf of a group of devices. There can be multiple groups available on SPEAr3xx variants but not exceeding 4. The number of devices in a group can differ, further they may share same set of status/mask registers spanning across different bit masks. Also in some cases the group may not have enable or other registers. This makes software little complex. Present implementation was non-DT and had few complex data structures to decipher banks, number of irqs supported, mask and registers involved. This patch simplifies the overall design and convert it in to DT. It also removes all registration from individual SoC files and bring them in to common shirq.c. Also updated the corresponding documentation for DT binding of shirq. Signed-off-by: Shiraz Hashim <shiraz.hashim@st.com> Signed-off-by: Viresh Kumar <viresh.kumar@linaro.org>

In preparation to support multi-platform kernels, move all the dtb targets out of the mach Makefile.boot and into the arch/arm/boot/dts/Makefile which is closer to the sources. DTBs are only built when CONFIG_OF is enabled and now use top level CONFIG_ARCH_xxx instead of chip or board specific config options. 2012-08-01Merge branch 'dmaengine' of git://git.linaro.org/people/rmk/linux-armLinus Torvalds
Pull ARM DMA engine updates from Russell King: "This looks scary at first glance, but what it is is: - a rework of the sa11x0 DMA engine driver merged during the previous cycle, to extract a common set of helper functions for DMA engine implementations. - conversion of amba-pl08x.c to use these helper functions. - addition of OMAP DMA engine driver (using these helper functions), and conversion of some of the OMAP DMA users to use DMA engine. Nothing in the helper functions is ARM specific, so I hope that other implementations can consolidate some of their code by making use of these helpers. This has been sitting in linux-next most of the merge cycle, and has been tested by several OMAP folk. I've tested it on sa11x0 platforms, and given it my best shot on my broken platforms which have the amba-pl08x controller. The last point is the addition to feature-removal-schedule.txt, which will have a merge conflict. Between myself and TI, we're planning to remove the old TI DMA implementation next year." 2012-04-22ARM: spear: remove most mach/*.h header contentsArnd Bergmann
The register and irq definitions in mach/*.h for spear3xx and spear6xx are now mostly obsolete, after the platforms have been converted to device tree based probing and the data is now part of the device tree files. The misc_regs.h contents are moved into clock.c because that is the only user, aside from the DMA_CHN_CFG that should eventually get handled differently. Some of the contents of mach/spear.h still remain, because they are used to set up the static map table, timer, uart and auxdata tables, but almost everything got removed. We might remove everything but the map table as the DT conversion completes, but that is not a priority. I've also made sure to make both copies of spear.h more or less identical so we can eventually combine them. The spear3?0.h files were only used by the spear3?0.c files, so I merged the contents in there and removed the bits that were unused. This is something that should still be looked at. This also removes IO_ADDRESS macro and creates 16 MB static mappings instead of 4K for individual peripherals. 2012-03-13ARM: create a common IOMEM definitionRob Herring
Several platforms create IOMEM defines for casting to 'void __iomem *', and other platforms are incorrectly using __io() macro for the same purpose. Rather than try to make linux/io.h and asm/io.h assembly safe, the assembly version of IOMEM is moved into asm/assembler.h.
