2018-08-31net/rds: RDS is not Radio Data SystemPavel Machek
Getting prompt "The RDS Protocol" (RDS) is not too helpful, and it is easily confused with Radio Data System (which we may want to support in kernel, too). 2018-08-14rds: fix building with IPV6=mArnd Bergmann
When CONFIG_RDS_TCP is built-in and CONFIG_IPV6 is a loadable module, we get a link error agains the modular ipv6_chk_addr() function: net/rds/tcp.o: In function `rds_tcp_laddr_check': tcp.c:(.text+0x3b2): undefined reference to `ipv6_chk_addr' This adds back a dependency that forces RDS_TCP to also be a loadable module when IPV6 is one. Build error, implicit declaration of function __inet6_ehashfn shows up When RDS is enabled but not IPV6. net/rds/connection.c: In function ‘rds_conn_bucket’: net/rds/connection.c:67:9: error: implicit declaration of function ‘__inet6_ehashfn’; did you mean ‘__inet_ehashfn’? [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration] hash = __inet6_ehashfn(lhash, 0, fhash, 0, rds_hash_secret); ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ __inet_ehashfn Current code adds IPV6 as a depends on in config RDS. 2018-05-28IB: Revert "remove redundant INFINIBAND kconfig dependencies"Arnd Bergmann
Several subsystems depend on INFINIBAND_ADDR_TRANS, which in turn depends on INFINIBAND. However, when with CONFIG_INIFIBAND=m, this leads to a link error when another driver using it is built-in. The INFINIBAND_ADDR_TRANS dependency is insufficient here as this is a 'bool' symbol that does not force anything to be a module in turn. fs/cifs/smbdirect.o: In function `smbd_disconnect_rdma_work': smbdirect.c:(.text+0x1e4): undefined reference to `rdma_disconnect' net/9p/trans_rdma.o: In function `rdma_request': trans_rdma.c:(.text+0x7bc): undefined reference to `rdma_disconnect' net/9p/trans_rdma.o: In function `rdma_destroy_trans': trans_rdma.c:(.text+0x830): undefined reference to `ib_destroy_qp' trans_rdma.c:(.text+0x858): undefined reference to `ib_dealloc_pd' Fixes: 9533b292a7ac ("IB: remove redundant INFINIBAND kconfig dependencies") Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Acked-by: Greg Thelen <gthelen@google.com> Signed-off-by: Jason Gunthorpe <jgg@mellanox.com>
2018-05-09IB: remove redundant INFINIBAND kconfig dependenciesGreg Thelen
INFINIBAND_ADDR_TRANS depends on INFINIBAND. So there's no need for options which depend INFINIBAND_ADDR_TRANS to also depend on INFINIBAND. Remove the unnecessary INFINIBAND depends. Signed-off-by: Greg Thelen <gthelen@google.com> Signed-off-by: Doug Ledford <dledford@redhat.com>
2016-03-02RDS: Drop stale iWARP RDMA transportsantosh.shilimkar@oracle.com
RDS iWarp support code has become stale and non testable. As indicated earlier, am dropping the support for it. If new iWarp user(s) shows up in future, we can adapat the RDS IB transprt for the special RDMA READ sink case. iWarp needs an MR for the RDMA READ sink. 2013-01-11net/rds: remove depends on CONFIG_EXPERIMENTALKees Cook
The CONFIG_EXPERIMENTAL config item has not carried much meaning for a while now and is almost always enabled by default. As agreed during the Linux kernel summit, remove it from any "depends on" lines in Kconfigs. CC: Venkat Venkatsubra <venkat.x.venkatsubra@oracle.com> CC: "David S. 2011-11-14rds: drop "select LLIST"Paul Bolle
Commit 1bc144b625 ("net, rds, Replace xlist in net/rds/xlist.h with llist") added "select LLIST" to the RDS_RDMA Kconfig entry. But there is no Kconfig symbol named LLIST. The select statement for that symbol is a nop. Drop it. lib/llist.o is builtin, so all that's needed to use the llist functionality is to include linux/llist.h, which this commit also did.
