2022-06-01fs/ntfs3: provide block_invalidate_folio to fix memory leakMikulas Patocka
The ntfs3 filesystem lacks the 'invalidate_folio' method and it causes memory leak. If you write to the filesystem and then unmount it, the cached written data are not freed and they are permanently leaked. Fixes: 7ba13abbd31e ("fs: Turn block_invalidatepage into block_invalidate_folio") Reported-by: José Luis Lara Carrascal <manualinux@yahoo.es> Signed-off-by: Mikulas Patocka <mpatocka@redhat.com> Acked-by: Matthew Wilcox (Oracle) <willy@infradead.org> Reviewed-by: Namjae Jeon <linkinjeon@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Konstantin Komarov <almaz.alexandrovich@paragon-software.com> Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org # v5.18
2022-05-31fs/ntfs3: Fix invalid free in log_replayNamjae Jeon
log_read_rst() returns ENOMEM error when there is not enough memory. In this case, if info is returned without initialization, it attempts to kfree the uninitialized info->r_page pointer. This patch moves the memset initialization code to before log_read_rst() is called. 2022-05-12fs/ntfs3: validate BOOT sectors_per_clustersRandy Dunlap
When the NTFS BOOT sectors_per_clusters field is > 0x80, it represents a shift value. Make sure that the shift value is not too large before using it (NTFS max cluster size is 2MB). Return -EVINVAL if it too large. This prevents negative shift values and shift values that are larger than the field size. 2022-05-09fs: Convert mpage_readpage to mpage_read_folioMatthew Wilcox (Oracle)
mpage_readpage still works in terms of pages, and has not been audited for correctness with large folios, so include an assertion that the filesystem is not passing it large folios. Convert all the filesystems to call mpage_read_folio() instead of mpage_readpage(). Signed-off-by: Matthew Wilcox (Oracle) <willy@infradead.org>
2022-05-08ntfs3: Remove fsdata parameter from ntfs_extend_initialized_size()Matthew Wilcox (Oracle)
After the last patch, Smatch reports: fs/ntfs3/file.c:168 ntfs_extend_initialized_size() error: uninitialized symbol 'fsdata'. fsdata is indeed unused. This is not new, but Smatch couldn't see it before because calls through pagecache_write_begin()/pagecache_write_end() could theoretically call any implemention of ->write_begin/write_end, some of which do use fsdata. Now that the calls are direct, Smatch can see they're never used. Fix this by simply passing NULL. While ntfs3 does pass this parameter on to generic functions, those generic functions also never dereference the fsdata parameter, so it's unnecessary to pass the address of a real pointer. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gfs2/linux-gfs2 Pull gfs2 mmap + page fault deadlocks fixes from Andreas Gruenbacher: "Functions gfs2_file_read_iter and gfs2_file_write_iter are both accessing the user buffer to write to or read from while holding the inode glock. In the most basic deadlock scenario, that buffer will not be resident and it will be mapped to the same file. Accessing the buffer will trigger a page fault, and gfs2 will deadlock trying to take the same inode glock again while trying to handle that fault. Fix that and similar, more complex scenarios by disabling page faults while accessing user buffers. To make this work, introduce a small amount of new infrastructure and fix some bugs that didn't trigger so far, with page faults enabled" * tag 'gfs2-v5.15-rc5-mmap-fault' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gfs2/linux-gfs2: gfs2: Fix mmap + page fault deadlocks for direct I/O iov_iter: Introduce nofault flag to disable page faults gup: Introduce FOLL_NOFAULT flag to disable page faults iomap: Add done_before argument to iomap_dio_rw iomap: Support partial direct I/O on user copy failures iomap: Fix iomap_dio_rw return value for user copies gfs2: Fix mmap + page fault deadlocks for buffered I/O gfs2: Eliminate ip->i_gh gfs2: Move the inode glock locking to gfs2_file_buffered_write gfs2: Introduce flag for glock holder auto-demotion gfs2: Clean up function may_grant gfs2: Add wrapper for iomap_file_buffered_write iov_iter: Introduce fault_in_iov_iter_writeable iov_iter: Turn iov_iter_fault_in_readable into fault_in_iov_iter_readable gup: Turn fault_in_pages_{readable,writeable} into fault_in_{readable,writeable} powerpc/kvm: Fix kvm_use_magic_page iov_iter: Fix iov_iter_get_pages{,_alloc} page fault return value

2021-10-18iov_iter: Turn iov_iter_fault_in_readable into fault_in_iov_iter_readableAndreas Gruenbacher
Turn iov_iter_fault_in_readable into a function that returns the number of bytes not faulted in, similar to copy_to_user, instead of returning a non-zero value when any of the requested pages couldn't be faulted in. This supports the existing users that require all pages to be faulted in as well as new users that are happy if any pages can be faulted in. Rename iov_iter_fault_in_readable to fault_in_iov_iter_readable to make sure this change doesn't silently break things. Signed-off-by: Andreas Gruenbacher <agruenba@redhat.com>

2021-10-11fs/ntfs3: Fix memory leak if fill_super failedKonstantin Komarov
In ntfs_init_fs_context we allocate memory in fc->s_fs_info. In case of failed mount we must free it in ntfs_fill_super. We can't do it in ntfs_fs_free, because ntfs_fs_free called with fc->s_fs_info == NULL. fc->s_fs_info became NULL in sget_fc. 2021-10-11fs/ntfs3: Keep prealloc for all types of filesKonstantin Komarov
Before we haven't kept prealloc for sparse files because we thought that it will speed up create / write operations. It lead to situation, when user reserved some space for sparse file, filled volume, and wasn't able to write in reserved file. With this commit we keep prealloc. Now xfstest generic/274 pass.
