2016-05-02simple local filesystems: switch to ->iterate_shared()Al Viro
no changes needed (XFS isn't simple, but it has the same parallelism in the interesting parts exercised from CXFS). Signed-off-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk>
2015-02-17fs/affs: define AFFSNAMEMAX to replace constant useFabian Frederick
30 was used all over the place to compare name length against AFFS maximum name length. Signed-off-by: Fabian Frederick <fabf@skynet.be> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
2015-02-17fs/affs: fix casting in printed messagesGeert Uytterhoeven
- "inode.i_ino" is "unsigned long", - "loff_t" is always "unsigned long long", - "sector_t" should be cast to "unsigned long long" for printing, - "u32" should not be cast to "unsigned int" for printing. 2014-06-06fs/affs: pr_debug cleanupFabian Frederick
- Remove AFFS: prefix (defined in pr_fmt) - Use __func__ - Separate format/arguments on lines > 80 characters. 2014-04-07fs/affs/dir.c: unlock/brelse dir on failure + code clean-upFabian Frederick
Commit 0edf977d2ae3 ("[readdir] convert affs") returns directly -EIO without unlocking dir inode and releasing dir bh when second affs_bread sequence fails. This patch restores initial behaviour. It also fixes pr_debug and affs_error to fit in 80 columns + removes reference to filldir (replaced by dir_emit in the commit above). 2009-06-11sanitize ->fsync() for affsAl Viro
unfortunately, for affs (especially for affs directories) we have no real way to keep track of metadata ownership. So we have to do more or less what file_fsync() does, but we do *not* need to call write_super() there. Signed-off-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk>

2007-02-12[PATCH] mark struct inode_operations const 1Arjan van de Ven
Many struct inode_operations in the kernel can be "const". Marking them const moves these to the .rodata section, which avoids false sharing with potential dirty data. In addition it'll catch accidental writes at compile time to these shared resources. 2006-12-08[PATCH] affs: change uses of f_{dentry, vfsmnt} to use f_pathJosef "Jeff" Sipek
Change all the uses of f_{dentry,vfsmnt} to f_path.{dentry,mnt} in the affs filesystem. Signed-off-by: Josef "Jeff" Sipek <jsipek@cs.sunysb.edu> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2006-03-28[PATCH] Make most file operations structs in fs/ constArjan van de Ven
This is a conversion to make the various file_operations structs in fs/ const. Basically a regexp job, with a few manual fixups The goal is both to increase correctness (harder to accidentally write to shared datastructures) and reducing the false sharing of cachelines with things that get dirty in .data (while .rodata is nicely read only and thus cache clean) Signed-off-by: Arjan van de Ven <arjan@infradead.org> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
